As part of our ongoing commitment to raise awareness around sustainability and resource efficiency, the Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC), in partnership with Ajial Real Estate, hosted a screening of the award-winning documentary Just Eat It. This was the second film in our monthly sustainability series held at The Urban Hall, Al-Andalus Complex.
The film follows a couple who embark on a powerful and personal challenge: survive exclusively on food that would otherwise be discarded. From nearly expired items to produce rejected due to its shape or size, the documentary sheds light on the startling amount of edible food wasted before it even reaches grocery shelves — highlighting critical gaps in our food system.
Following the screening, Dr.Esraa Al-Essa led a thought-provoking discussion on food waste in Kuwait. The session encouraged attendees to reflect on their own consumption habits and explore practical ways to combat food waste at the individual and household levels.
