In celebration of World Green Building Week, Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC) partnered with PACE to offer our members an exclusive tour of PACE’s new headquarters at One64 in Hessah Al Mubarak District.
The visit provided members with the opportunity to experience the building firsthand and gain insight into the design and sustainability strategies behind the project.
A Tour Led by the Project Architects
The tour was led by Bilal Malaeb, one of the main architects who worked directly on the project, and Fatemah Ashraf, who was the project's lead sustainability engineer. Drawing from their firsthand involvement, they guided KGBC members through key spaces within the headquarters while sharing insights into the design process, architectural decisions, and sustainability considerations that shaped the building.
A key focus of the tour was the headquarters’ achievement of LEED Gold certification. Bilal and Fatemah discussed the strategies and considerations that contributed to achieving the certification, giving members a valuable look at how international green building standards can be applied within the Kuwaiti context.
Learning Through the Built Environment
The tour created an opportunity for KGBC members to see sustainable building principles applied in practice and engage directly with the architects behind the project.
Experiences like these are an important part of KGBC’s mission to connect our community with projects, professionals, and ideas that are helping advance sustainable design and construction in Kuwait.
