Boubyan Bank New Headquarters

KGBC Exclusive Members’ Tour

Saturday October 3rd 2026

The Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC) recently hosted a members’ tour of the Boubyan Bank New Headquarters, offering participants a closer look at how sustainability, smart building technologies, and operational efficiency have been integrated into the project.

The 43-storey, approximately 83,000 m² headquarters incorporates energy and water efficiency measures, smart BMS and VAV controls, thermal energy storage, water reuse, and dedicated sub-metering, alongside sustainable construction practices including 38 Type III EPDs and approximately 2,850 tonnes of construction waste managed or recycled.

During the presentation, the team highlighted several of the building’s key sustainability and smart-building features, including a high-performance façade, natural ventilation strategies, water reuse and condensate recovery systems, ice-tank thermal energy storage, smart Building Management Systems (BMS), advanced Variable Air Volume (VAV) controls, digital facilities management and CMMS systems, and dedicated energy and water sub-metering.

Following the presentation, members joined a guided walk-through of the headquarters, visiting meeting and executive spaces, the green atrium, boardroom, coworking areas, and other key areas of the building. Participants were also able to see smart technologies in operation, including the BMS and automated roller blinds and curtains.

The visit also highlighted Boubyan Bank’s ESG strategy and six goals towards 2029, aligned with the wider ambitions of Kuwait Vision 2035.

KGBC thanks  Boubyan Bank  for hosting our members and sharing their experience.
