Are We Breathing Up to Standard? Exploring Indoor Air Quality at the KGBC Members Hub

Monday 28 September 2026

Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC), in collaboration with ASHRAE Kuwait Chapter and PACE, hosted the hybrid event “Are We Breathing Up to Standard? – Indoor Air Quality: Standards vs. Rating Systems” at the KGBC Members Hub and online.

The session was led by Bayan AlAlwani, HVAC Consulting Engineer at PACE, who explored the importance of indoor air quality and the role that established standards and building rating systems play in creating healthier indoor environments.

Throughout the discussion, attendees gained a clearer understanding of how indoor air quality requirements are addressed through technical standards, as well as how these requirements relate to sustainability and green building rating systems. The session highlighted the importance of factors such as ventilation, air quality monitoring, occupant comfort, and building performance when designing and operating healthier spaces.

The hybrid format also provided an opportunity for both in-person and online participants to engage with the speaker, ask questions, and discuss the practical challenges of maintaining high indoor environmental quality within buildings.

The event reflected KGBC’s ongoing commitment to bringing together industry professionals and the wider community to exchange knowledge on topics that directly affect the sustainability, performance, and wellbeing of Kuwait’s built environment.

KGBC extends its thanks to Bayan AlAlwani, PACE, ASHRAE Kuwait Chapter, and everyone who joined us for the session.
