Avenues Mall Tour for Architecture Students 

April 2024, Kuwait City - KGBC, in collaboration with Mabanee, organized an insightful tour of Avenues Mall for Building Systems students and faculty from the College of Architecture at Kuwait University. The tour focused on the cutting-edge sustainability features and practices implemented by the Avenues Facility Management team as part of their ongoing ESG initiatives.

The students and faculty had the opportunity to explore firsthand the advanced building engineering systems that have earned Avenues Mall a prestigious LEED Silver Certification under the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) category. This certification underscores Avenues' status as one of the world's premier shopping, leisure, and lifestyle destinations adhering to the stringent requirements of international green building standards.​

During the tour, participants gained practical exposure to various aspects of the mall's sustainability framework, including the central plant, waste management facilities, and innovative features such as the ETFE roof. Additionally, they learned about the smart automation systems and environmentally conscious purchasing and facility management policies that collectively contribute to reducing the mall's overall carbon footprint.​

This collaboration reflects KGBC's ongoing commitment to fostering sustainability and education within Kuwait's evolving urban landscape, ensuring that the next generation of architects and engineers are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to continue advancing green building practices in the region.​
