LEED Neighborhood Development Workshop for PAHW

Monday, 12 January 2026

Kuwait Green Building Council (KGBC) delivered a three-day workshop on LEED Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) for the Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW), led by Ravi Armoudjian. The workshop was tailored for PAHW’s design and investment teams, supporting their work on future housing developments.

The sessions introduced the LEED ND framework, focusing on sustainability at the neighborhood scale through smart location and linkage, walkable and connected community design, mixed-use development, and green infrastructure strategies.

Participants explored principles of smart, connected neighborhoods, including mobility, access to services, public spaces, and long-term environmental and social performance. Discussions also addressed how LEED ND concepts can be adapted to Kuwait’s local context.

The workshop marked an important step toward integrating neighborhood-scale sustainability into PAHW’s planning and investment processes.
