Kuwait, April 4, 2018: We are delighted to announce that Kuwait Green Building Council has attained the Emerging GBC status within the WorldGBC membership tier as of the 14th March 2018. A member of WorldGBC’s MENA Regional Network, Kuwait GBC’s status progression comes in light of its continued efforts to demonstrate exceptional leadership within the industry, educate the market and act as the primary source of information and collective action on sustainable building in Kuwait.
WorldGBC is impressed by the efforts of this Council to date and we have every confidence that it will continue to lead the industry, educate the market and act as the primary source of information and collective action in sustainable building in its country.
Kuwait GBC is now working on further expanding its operations; specifically, growing membership, hosting events, developing education programs, exploring certification systems and gaining influence and impact within its country. This will enable the GBC to progress to the final level of membership – Established status – at which the GBC will receive full WorldGBC benefits and leadership opportunities.
Sandra Draskovic, General Manager of Kuwait Green Building Council, said: “It’s exciting to reach this milestone and we are looking forward to future collaborations and deeper commitment towards greener buildings in Kuwait.”
Mohammad Asfour, Regional Head of WorldGBC’s MENA Regional Network, said: “I’m delighted to welcome the Kuwait Green Building Council on to the next stage of membership. This progress signifies the excellent work that’s happening in growing the local market for green buildings. We now have a total of three Emerging Green Building Councils in the MENA region with increased opportunities to reach our goal of green buildings for everyone everywhere.”
